Saturday 6th October

Despite playing in the worst conditions so far this year, it didn’t stop the under 12s from maintaining second in the league with a 12-3 thriller, where every outfield player had a contribution to a least one goal. Luke managed to get 3 assists and Chester, Jude and Reece each got 2 assists as well. Goals from Luke, Jack, Alex, Kyle, Ben Shergold and braces for Mikey and Reece, as well a hat-trick for Jude made it a day that will not be forgotten in a hurry.

Although the end result may seem like we were winning the whole game, the boys found themselves 3-1 down after 20 minutes and did well to channel their frustrations to make sure that we got back into the game which then gave us a 4-3 lead at half time. However the boys always looked like we could get a goal when it mattered as Kyle was very unlucky early on after being played in by some very good passes being played to him by Reece and Luke.

After a very intense first half I told the players that I wanted them to win the second 5-0 and they went on to win the second half 8-0. This is probably one of the best 2nd half performances of the season so far as we did not let them come into our half and gave Korey in goal very little to do. Another thing that was very good to see from the side-lines was that every player kept giving their all right up until the final whistle even though it was absolutely freezing instead of deciding to ease up.

With this great performance we are now very far in front on goal difference which will definitely help us due to how close the league is at the moment and also keep the pressure on the leaders and enable us also to go one better in the cup this year.

Managers Notes

A fantastic two weeks for Ryan and the boys whilst I’ve been on my UEFA B License and (despites worries about me now losing my job to “Mr.100%” Ryan!) I’m really proud of the boys for battling through the circumstances of the last two weeks (both socially and also in terms of weather)
