Daventry Drayton Grange Juniors U16-v-Brackley Town Juniors U16

Brackley Town u16's march on into the last 16 of the Northamptonshire county cup following a rampant performance winning 13-0 away from home against todays opponents Daventry Drayton Grange. Kelan McConnan opened our account inside the 1st minute which set the tone for the complete match. Brackley ended the first half 10-0 up with Kelan McConnon our top goal scorer of the day hitting 4, Keelan Croinin 2, Lucus Barber 1 & Kia Bailey scoring a quick fire hat trick inside 11mins after coming on as a sub in the first half.

Our HT team talk was to challenge the players further so we can test ourselves. We told the players they could only score if we played around the back before moving the ball forward, switching play, or from a cross. We challenged the players to move the ball quickly & to play 2 touch were possible. On top of that we changed personal frequently to disrupt us even further & although this made it much harder we played some really good stuff & our movement was excellent ahead of the ball. Brackley were very diciplined & that was so pleasing to watch. How many times do you see a team on top just shooting from anywhere & all of a sudden its route one football because everyone wants to get on the score sheet. Sol Grant scored from the spot to make it 11-0 after Keelan Croinin was brought down & turned down the chance to take it to get his hat trick. Joe Armand had a really good half pulling the strings for us in midfield & toped his performance off scoring a header to make it 12-0 & Alex Pestana rapped it up to make it 13-0 with 4 mins to go. Tobie Bullivant although didnt get on the scoresheet was so instrumental & assisted in so many of our opportunities & desrves a little mention also. A really good team performane, a clean sheet to boot & just what the team needed before we have a week off for half term. Well done lads a massive lift for everyone & one we can all saver. Just goes to show you how tough our league is but the right league for us nevertheless.
