Brackley Town U11 v Hook Norton U11 (11/01/20)

Another exciting performance from the fast-improving U11's as they welcomed Hook Norton to 'windy' Helmdon for a thoroughly engrossing encounter.

Brackley started very quickly and with a really solid look to the midfield, pressed their opponents deep in their own half as they looked for shooting opportunities with the downhill wind in their favour.

Hook Norton were here for a battle however, with eager tackles flying in, so Brackley opted to play the ball wider to get round their defensive block and start testing their keeper, who had a terrific game.

The 2nd half had a slightly different feel as Brackley (now playing into the wind) changed their formation to sit a little deeper and play on the break, a chance to explore some recent ideas practised on the training field.

The game ebbed and flowed with both goalkeepers being kept very busy and there were lots of exciting little battles as each team became more accustomed to one another.

The spectators were ultimately treated to some super goals but equally, the defensive qualities were really on show and Brackley can be especially proud of their collective endeavours.

On to next Saturday when the U11's conclude their recent series of Futsal sessions which bring many of the local league teams together for a very exciting (and weather-proof!) opportunity to sharpen their skills..with lots of positivity, team-building and FUN!..all of which is great for development!..
