Brackley Town u16's come thumping back down to earth suffering their heaviest defeat of the season away to Bromsgrove Sporting following their best run of form of W3 D2 L1 in the last 6 games. Brackley don't seem to travel well & we were very slow out of the blocks. Bromsgrove were much, much quicker in transition, faster, fitter & much slicker with their passing football on a very heavy pitch. Brackley couldnt cope against a much more phyiscal team in all areas & they seemed to have the desire to be first to every loose ball. Brackley didnt have an answer & soon went 2-0 down early on. It was evident our players were not coping with the phyiscal side of the game & dare I say it not working hard enough. We didnt compete & we got punished for it.

Keelan Croinin had the best chance for us just before HT but his effort smashed against the bar & agonisingly over from 12 yards. If that had of gone in it would of perhaps given us hope & a very much needed lift. As it was the game was soon beyond us after HT as Bromsgrove didn't let up. Their winger cleverly went one way & then the other to cut inside our full back & placed a super strike in the top corner to give them a well deserved three goal cushion. James Baker however made some really good saves especially the double save soon after that as Bromsgrove went for the jugular. Brackley had one or two spells of good passing football & we did pull the opposition apart but these passages of play were very few & far between. Instead Brackley were giving the ball away more often than not & causing their own problems especially giving the ball away in & around their own box as Bromsgrove hustled us off the ball & had us on panic mode for most of the game. Bromsgrove didnt let up & hit six past us in the end as we continued to struggle to maintain the onslaught.
