U12 Girls vs AFC Rushden & Diamonds Blues - Saturday 14th March

After a few weeks without football the girls returned with an away trip to Rushden & Diamond Blues. Brackley started strong and were first to every second ball. After lots of pressure Brackley were awarded a penalty for handball, which Alice converted perfectly into the bottom left corner.

Brackley remained on top, creating several half chances but a few good saves from Rushden goalie kept the score at 1-0. But then Alice played a great ball into Evie just inside the area to finish first time lofting the ball over the goalkeeper. Brackley looking comfortable, with Izzy G having another great performance in the holding midfielder role, winning yet another ball and played a long ball over the top for Alice to run onto and slot it past the goalie making it 3-0 to brackley. Rounding of her hattrick, Alice scored a great solo goal running down the right and cutting in to finish from the edge of the box.

Rushden came out strong after half time, pilling on lots of pressure to get some goals. Brackley remained strong in defence, with Isabel and Phoebe M taking their turn in goal making some strong saves. The game was end to end at this point before Lauren played a 1-2 with Evie on the left before crossing the ball which made it all the way through to Alice at the back post, who slotted a well controlled finished back across goal bringing the score to 5-0 and rounding off an excellent performance from the girls.

We’re still looking for a goalkeeper, if interested please contact Tom on 07557122062 for more details.
