Brackley Town U13 Girls vs AFC Rushden & Diamond Blues - Saturday 10th October

After a successful win in their first league game against Silverstone last week the girls played away to Rushden and Diamonds Blues. After a cagey start with Rushden starting as the better team Brackley took the lead through a well worked play down the right with Alice crossing across the box for Evie to tap in. Rushden quickly replied with an equaliser and then took control scoring 2 more goals and the teams went into half time at 3-1 to Rushden.

Brackley started the second half stronger pressing hard and forcing a lot of mistakes, capitalising on a misplaced pass from the press Holly got in and passed in beyond the keeper. Brackley remained on top but if it weren’t for some fantastic Goalkeeping from Lucy then Rushden would’ve of been out of sight! Continuing to press and showing more desire to win Alice then picked the ball up on the right, beat two Rushden players and went through 1 on 1 to slot home very comfortably to equalise the game.

With the score locked at 3-3 both teams were pushing for a winner, then with 1 minute to go Alice picked the ball up on the edge of the box and drilled it across goal into the far corner to win the game 4-3! The girls go top of the league with 2 wins from 2 games.
