Brackley Town u16's v Coventry Sky Blue Eagles u16's
Brackley went behind inside 3 mins & giving a very early Christmas present to Coventry starting slowly & not switched on. Coventry played a pin point cross to the back post with no one marking as they nodded home & put us on the back foot. It took us a little while to recover & Coventry were causing us problems defensively with their players playing high & wide. It seemed Brackley were content with going from back to front condensing the game rather than trying to open up the opposition. Brackley did get their rewards when Alfie Dunn was brought down in the box & dispatched the penalty with a brilliant finish in the top corner of the net to level. Brackley then went in front when Joseph Johnson skipped past his man to rifle home to score his first goal for the club. HT 2-1
Coventry probably had the better of the 1st 15mins of the 2nd half without really creating anything in a scrappy encounter. Until Brackley did start to play & were trying really hard to get some width to open up the opposition. Brackley's game management was really good today from going a goal behind early on, battling hard to level, & working extremley hard for each other to then take the lead. Brackley were now frustrating Coventry & it was showing on & off the pitch. Alfie Dunn then grabbed our third with some terrific skills to skip past a couple of players with some keepy up is, to slot home superbly well 3-1. If that wasn't enough Alfie got his hatrick with a superb first touch to go inbetween two defenders & drilled it into the bottom corner with the keeper well beaten. 4-1. Coventry did get one back with the last kick of the game when a lofted ball into our box wasn't dealt with only for Coventry to tap home from close range.

Moreton Rangers v Brackley Town (u12) 03/11/18
A 3-0 away win to a A league team, we should be happy. And yet we all knew at the final whistle we weren’t at our best. Our quality showed early on as we were 2-0 up within 12 minutes and credit where credit is due they didn’t have a single clear chance for the rest of the game, and I must admit in the second half their keeper had an absolute blinder (I feel like the past few matches I’ve coached this side I’m always congratulating their keeper on a great performance at the end…)
Where we must improve is in our counter attacking, we broke numerous times and seemed to run out of ideas when in the final 1/3 if we didn’t break through, but the match should be remembered for Finch waltzing through their defence twice to score and Dooley hitting a peach into the top corner from range.
A special mention should also go to 2 great, yet very different, leaders. Dooley was the matchday captain and led with his actions whilst Alexander drove the team onwards whilst on and off the pitch
Goals: Finch (2), Dooley
Assists: Finch, Dooley, Alexander
