Brackley Town v Coleshill Town u16

Brackley welcomed Coleshill Town to Soulden for a eagerly awaited league fixture following a lay off last weekend due to the half term break. We were keen for the players to learn some lessons following on from the last few games as we expressed how important the

Brackley Town v Rushden & Diamonds u16 County Cup

Brackley hosted today's county cup clash v Rushden & Diamonds at our u18's home ground at Hethe which was our 2nd game in 2 days. Brackley set the standard in the first half having most of the ball & creating chances left right & centre but unfortunately early on couldn't convert. Our shape was really good in & out of possession & we restricted the opposition to very little in the way of the ball, space & chances. Brackley finally got their just reward when Alfie Dunn finished off a lovely move to slot home past the keeper, & then Hayden Mcconnell made it 2-0 before half time twisting one way & then the other to rifle the ball into the back of the net with the keeper rooted to the spot. A terrific team display on all fronts & to be honest the game should of been put to bed with the amount of chances we created.

Brackley however didn't start that well in the 2nd half but still managed to snatch a third with Manny Maskery firing home to give us a commanding lead 3-0. Our opposition however didn't crumble & through their own efforts got a goal back midway into the 2nd half. To be honest the game got a bit scrappy before Brackley gave away a penalty to bring Rushden & Diamonds right back into the game. The penalty was converted & at 3-2 it was felt changes were needed to steady the ship & get the result our first half performance deserved. Brackley never really looked in trouble after that with  Alfie Dunn converting his 2nd of the afternoon with a sweet left foot shot after a neat little run sealed it for us. A really good game to watch especially 1st half with Brackley coming out deserved winners in the end & into the next round of the cup.

Brackley Town U14s hit the road again, this time to face Northamptonshire counterparts, Wellingborough Whitworth.

Both teams battled it out early on in the midfield areas on what was a rather compact pitch, but it was the hosts that made the break through after 8 minutes. Brackley failed to close down the midfielder who had time and space to shoot from 25 yards and perfectly looped the ball over the keeper.

Bloxham Rangers U10 v Brackley Town Juniors U10 - 20/10/18

A hugely enjoyable 'return' fixture in the morning sunshine at Bloxham with both teams contributing to a closely-fought game following Brackley's recent 'home' defeat by Rangers.

Brackley battled from behind on this occasion to notch a 2-1 victory yet might have finished with more goals to their tally, but for an excellent 2nd half display from Bloxham's very impressive keeper.

Reuben continued his recent good form with a well struck equaliser on half-time and then later fashioned a curling free-kick for Finlay to provide a terrific match-winning goal with a superbly directed header at the far post!

Elsewhere, Kian covered every single blade of grass once again in a marauding role at right wing-back but there was energy abound throughout the whole team who displayed real togetherness and resolve to shrug off their recent defeat by Bloxham for a deserved Victory.

The match was played in a very good spirit and with honours now even, both teams look forward to meeting again very soon!..
