Brackley Town are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Morgan Roberts, 22 who joins the Saints for the 2023/24 season following his release from Swindon Town.
Roberts came through the academy at Northampton Town and had a spell here at St James Park on loan from the Cobblers in 2020.
He then joined near-neighbours Banbury United in July 2021 and played a vital role in their promotion push becoming a firm fans' favourite, scoring ten goals in 27 appearances. He continued this fine form into last season in the National League North, scoring 4 goals and being awarded the National League North Player of the Month award for August 2022.
This form caught the eye of EFL League Two club Swindon Town who signed Morgan permanently in September. He then joined National League side Aldershot Town on loan until the end of the season before being released in the Summer.
Manager Gavin Cowan had this to say about his latest signing, “Morgan is a really exciting player who will bring great options for us in numerous positions and we are over the moon to have him here. Fresh out of a year in professional football, he’s ready to hit the ground running and show the fans what he can do!”
Subject to FA and National League approval.
Welcome back to St James Park Morgan!
