NEW SIGNING: STOKE CITY DEFENDER JAKE GRIFFIN JOINS BRACKLEY TOWN

Chris Tymon17 Dec - 14:59

We are delighted to announce the loan signing of Stoke City defender Jake Griffin

The highly-rated 18-year-old defender from EFL Championship side Stoke City joins the Saints on a one month loan and is available for this evening's home fixture against King's Lynn Town, he will wear the number 5 shirt in his time at St James Park.

He's a regular in Stoke City's u21 side managed by Ryan Shawcross and has featured on eight occasions in PL2 this season, in addition to recording appearances in the Central League competitions and the National League Cup.

The Irish u19 centre back is renowned for his technical ability and received his first call-up for Republic of Ireland’s Under 19s last year.

Brackley Town manager Gavin Cowan had this to say about his latest signing “We’ve been on the look-out for a centre half for a number of weeks but they have to be the right ones. Jake is young, hungry and fits the profile of what we want, so we’re pleased to get him in with the heavy injury list we have at present.”

Welcome to St James Park Jake!
