Gavin Cowan’s side will look to continue the bounce back from their midweek defeat at Scunthorpe, a defeat that ended a four game winning streak. Saturday’s win over Spennymoor Town got Saints back to winning ways as we welcome Kidderminster Harriers in a key National League North fixture. Both sides suffered setbacks in their respective midweek fixtures last Tuesday and Harriers were pegged back by Jalen Jones’ late equaliser at Oxford City on Saturday, making this a critical match as they seek to regain momentum.
Brackley, with the top scorer Connor Hall leading the charge, now will a season’s tally of thirteen, will be hoping to build on his attacking prowess. Hall has been a stand-out performer for the Saints leading the forward line with Danny Newton still side-lined with injury. His ability to find the back of the net will be vital as we aim to build another winning run.
Kidderminster, meanwhile, will also be looking for a reaction after their own midweek defeat at home against Darlington and at Oxford City. The Harriers had won six out of their last eight games and they have shown they can be a dangerous side when firing on all cylinders. Away from home they had won six of the last seven – impressive form by any measure. Full-time with a big squad and the resources to match they remain among the favourites to claim the single automatic promotion place come the end of the season.
Both teams have been evenly matched in recent head-to-head meetings and this one promises to be no different. In eight previous encounters between the teams at St James Park Saints won on six occasions and there has yet to be a drawn game between these teams home or away. However, it was The Harriers who won the crucial Play-Off Final in May 2023 by 2-0 gaining promotion to the National League. Previous encounters between the sides have been closely contested with Kidderminster winning 1-0 in the game at Aggborough earlier this season.
As the race for promotion and play-off places heats up, both Brackley and Kidderminster will be keen to take all three points from this one.
Kick-off is set for 7:45 PM at St James Park, and with both sides eager for three points - it should be a thrilling encounter.
