Chester’s home game on Saturday was postponed along with most National League North matches due to the freezing weather.
Only three games survived the cold snap, the pitch at St James Park standing up well to the conditions as we saw out the win to move into 4th place in the league table with goals from Zak Lilly and Morgan Roberts, both clinical finishes of quality. In a rarity this season Gavin Cowan was able to field an unchanged starting line-up following last Saturday’s win at Alfreton.
Chester are one of the form teams with a single defeat in eight games and are currently 12th, five points behind Saints but having played three games fewer.
