After Saturday’s draw with AFC Fylde in Roger Johnson’s first game in charge, he takes his side to Darlington next for another National League North game.
Against Fylde Saints were unfortunate to go into the break level after good chances to take the lead were passed up but were soon ahead as Ricardo Calder finished superbly for his first goal for the club. But a momentary defensive lapse saw the visitors quickly get back level and that was how it finished.
New signing from FC Halifax Town, Martin Woods, made his first appearance from the bench and looks set to be a key player in the new set-up. Striker Adam Rooney has since added his significant presence to the squad signing from Stratford Town as Johnson re-shapes the team.
Following 4th placed AFC Fylde as opponents come 2nd placed Darlington in a tough start for the new manager.
Darlington are on a six game winning streak that has lifted them into second spot just one point behind King’s Lynn Town and boast the best home record in the division. They have recorded three successive clean sheets.
