We are into December and a home game on Saturday with Spennymoor Town the visitors. Kick-off is an unusual 12.30pm as decreed by the National League due to World Cup fixtures and a possible 3pm clash with an England game. As it turns out England won the group so play on Sunday but kick-off at St James Park remains at 12.30pm.
Spennymoor and Saints have enjoyed closely fought games over many seasons. Spennymoor are currently 18th after a mixed start to the campaign under managers Bernard Morley and Anthony Johnson. Jason Ainsley is now back in charge and brings his side to Brackley on Saturday.
Saints drew at Blyth Spartans last Saturday, conceding a 90th-minute equaliser having led through Jimmy Armson, his fifth goal of the season and fourth in four games. New signing striker Levi Amantchi made his first appearance in a Saints shirt coming late off the bench.
Roger Johnson’s side enters another busy period with midweek games at Leamington next week and at home against King’s Lynn Town the following week with a first-ever trip to Scarborough in between.
