We host Kidderminster Harriers on Saturday (kick off 3pm).
With Saints 2nd and Kidderminster 3rd it is one of the Bog Games of the concluding two months of the National League North season as the competition for promotion and play-off places comes into sharp focus.
Kevin Wilkin’s side is unbeaten in ten league games, has conceded just once in the last six games and has lost only once at St James Park this season.
Harriers enjoyed a memorable FA Cup run eventually losing out in dramatic circumstances to Premier League West Ham United at Aggborough. But Russ Penn’s side is now focused on a return to Step 1. After a fine run of form they suffered three successive defeats against Farsley Celtic, leaders Gateshead and AFC Fylde before the midweek trip to Spennymoor on Tuesday which ended goalless.
With Covid, illness and injury affecting availability Wilkin made a number of changes to his starting eleven against AFC Telford last Saturday. In a tight finish Saints came out with a vital win having gone two goals ahead early on through Jaanai Gordon, his first in a Brackley shirt, and Matt Lowe following his hat-trick against Guiseley.
Kidderminster have boosted their ranks with loan signing from Northampton Town, Ryan Nolan. The 23 year old defender will be available for the game at St James Park.
Saturday’s game is segregated with away supporters at the Cricket Ground End. Supporters are urged to purchase tickets on-line in advance of the game. There will be no ticket office facility for away supporters so on-line purchase is essential. The ticket office will be open for home supporters only until 2pm.
If you cannot get to the game follow the action with live reports from St James Park on BBC Radio Oxford and BBC Radio Northampton pre-match, at half-time and at full-time. BTFC Radio will broadcast live commentary of the match from 2.55pm – access the link from the website or social media.
