Brackley Town v Gateshead Match Preview:
Both sides have enjoyed strong form. Kevin Wilkin’s side is unbeaten in 14 games and Mike Williamson’s team’s unbeaten run stretching back 10 games. Both have four wins from the last five games with both drawing last time out. Saints drew at Spennymoor in a thrilling game. Having gone ahead on 9 minutes through Lee Ndlovu’s header it wasn’t until added time, and there were 7 minutes of it (!), that Moors found the equaliser. Gateshead were goal-less at home against Bradford(PA).
When the sides met earlier in the season Gateshead won well while last season’s game was never played due to the curtailment of the season. In July 2020 the sides met in the play-offs with the visitors winning a penalty shoot-out after a 1-1 score-line remembered for Shane Byrne’s Beckham-esque goal from inside his own half.
The game will be segregated with all supporters urged to purchase tickets online in advance to avoid queues. Home supporters will have access to The Venue from midday. Away supporters will have use of the food kiosk and bar which open from midday with draught pints priced at £3.50 until 2pm.
If you cannot get to the game you can listen to live commentary from St James Park on Brackley Town Radio via Mixlr from the website.
BBC Radio Oxford and BBC Radio Northampton will carry live pre-match, half-time and full-time reports.
