Brackley Town 3-0 Daventry Town Senior Cup QF 23 Nov 2021
Saints into semis
A comfortable evening saw Saints move into the semi-finals of the Hillier Cup against NPL Division One Midlands side Daventry Town.
Matt Lowe notched the quickest hat-trick of his career in a ten minute purple patch and the home side had plentiful opportunities to have kept the score-board very busy.
The opening goal was a sublime finish from the edge of the penalty area curled into the top corner on the half hour, the second a decisive effort leaving goalkeeper and Daventry captain James Martin no chance and the hat-trick came with just 40 minutes played as Lowe waltzed through a posse of defenders to find the bottom corner of the net.
Brad Rolt was twice close, Tre Mitford’s fierce shot was punched away one handed and then thwarted one on one when clean through and substitute Wes York shot from range narrowly missing out on a fourth goal to cao off a comfortable evening for Kevin Wilkin’s side, useful minutes for key players who have missed out in recent weeks and passage through to a semi-final tie in the New Year.
