AFC Telford United  3-0  Brackley Town  Tues 6 Oct 2020

As on Saturday Saints fell behind in this game despite having the better of things but unlike against Billericay they were unable to conjure an equaliser and conceded further late goals to leave the Bucks Head stadium empty-handed.

A bright start by the visitors saw Danny Lewis a by-stander and only a dubious refereeing decision denied Saints the opening goal as Brad Rolt was inexplicably pulled back for handball having outwitted the defence and neatly found the net.

Telford came more into the game as the interval approached and went ahead on 52 minutes as Aaron Williams converted a penalty kick awarded for handball in the home’s side first threat on goal.

Having gone behind Brackley really rather lost their way although Harry Flowers’ header from Shane Byrne’s fine delivery was close late on.  In the final minutes Telford stamped their increasing authority on the game with goals from Lee Vaughan on 85 minutes and James Hardy on 89 minutes to finish comfortable winners on a disappointing first league outing for Kevin Wilkin’s side.
