Stand Together:  update 1/10/19

While ground developments are there for everyone to see with the new covered area in place already and plans for the new stands and terracing well advanced, the latest news on the clubhouse remains that the insurance pay-out is still to be settled and there will be no white knight riding to our rescue.  However, the club has drawn up exciting plans for a new clubhouse which the work of the Stand Together campaign will support.

There is lots of activity underway under the auspices of the Stand Together campaign and plenty of activities coming up that we hope lots of supporters and other people in the wider community will want to support.

In this bulletin we wanted to keep everyone updated with the latest news on the campaign.

First, we have raised £4,105.95 so far and this sits in the Stand Together bank account.  Thank you to everyone who has helped reach this point.

We hope to have a stall to run a bucket collection and sell club merchandise at the town fireworks display on Saturday 2 November so look out for further news on this.

Huge thanks to Andy Bannard and The Chequered Flag who have kindly offered to run a quiz on 29 October and then a race night in on 2 November, all proceeds to the campaign.  Brilliant!

For all first team matches supporters now have the opportunity to choose ten songs to play before the game at £25 per match.  This has already proved popular.  The play-list at last Saturday’s home game was fab and the next three home games are already booked out.

A group of supporters have organised their own football competition and the proceeds from the ticket sales go to the campaign – thank you!

Waynflete Infant School has held a mufti-day in support of the Campaign and Bracken Leas will be hosting a similar event on 18th October.  This is brilliant!

Thanks go the organisers of the Chicken Run who are assisting in planning our own event to be held on Sunday 1 December.  We have applied to South Northants for closure of the Buckingham Road, High Street and Market Place and will shortly be publicising the event to get runners signed up.  First team players and management will be running and we hope all junior sides will be able to join in a team event led by a first team player.  More news on this soon.

Several junior teams are holding cake sales and running competitions so lots of our young players are getting involved as well as raising some funds.  Every little helps!

A golf day and a sportman’s dinner are at the planning stage but without fixed dates yet and there are yet more events in the pipe-line.  Further updates are to follow.

We hope you will agree that so many people are getting involved in support of re-building the clubhouse and hopefully replacing it with something even bigger and better that everyone at the club and in the wider community will benefit from for years to come.

Out of adversity comes energy and passion for our club and our Brackley community.  These are exciting times.  Please get involved by supporting activities in whatever way you can.  Spread the word.  Let’s Stand Together.
