We travel to UCL Premier League side Northampton ON Chenecks on Tuesday evening (ko: 7.45pm) for the first round of this season's Northants Hillier Cup.

Thirteen teams are entered in this season's competition.  Daventry Town, AFC Rushden & Diamonds and Wellingborough Town received byes so there are five first round matches which will produce four quarter-finals to be played in the first week of November.  The pick of the round is perhaps Peterborough Northern Star against Peterborough Sports, the most local of local derbies.

Brackley won the competition last season beating AFC Rushden & Diamonds in the final played at Sixfields on 2 April.  The title was later stripped from Brackley for fielding two ineligible players in that match.  Given that the final was played just four days before the vital run-in to the National League North (Step Two) season with Saints challenging at the top of the league for a place in the National League (Step One) it was widely viewed as disappointing that the side was penalised for team selection that was within the spirit of the competition but fell foul of restrictive rules governing player eligibility.
