Saints push for the top of the table was dealt a blow at a wet Stag Meadow. Despite the rain the playing surface was very good and at times this was an absorbing match of contrasting styles. Saints were missing the suspended Ali Worby and the injured Ollie Goddard/James Hammond but were pleased to welcome back Lewis Baldwin from injury.

Windsor were out of the traps fast. On 7 minutes Jack Knight initiated a flowing move which led to a Dan Roberts shot which Eddie Cox, did well to tip over the bar.  Even though the game was played in a good spirit an early aerial challenge on Curtis Green set the tone for an evening where a number of Saints players were injured following such challenges.

Brackley Town Saints (2) Fairford Town (1)

Saints: Worby, Green, Middleton, Brock, Godfrey, Ward , Ball (G), Watts, Knight, Hammond, Kille (Swann 89).

Subs not used – Baldwin, Thompson, Haley, Ireland

This was a game that was all about getting the job done and Saints did just that with a deserved victory which keeps themin third place in this intriguing run in to the end of the season. In fairness it was a fairly regulation victory, with a couple of hairy moments but on the whole Saints were in control.

Perpetua Press Floodlit Cup

Wantage Town (1) Brackley Town Saints (2)

Saints: Worby, Middleton. Brock, Godfrey, Goddard (Baldwin 54), Ward , Ball (G), Watts (Bowden 55), Knight, Hammond (Swann 80), Ball (S)

Subs not used – Whitmore, Thompson,

This was a tricky tie for Saints. Wantage decided to play what was effectively their development team in this fixture, having one eye on a top of the table clash with Brimscombe on Saturday. If Saints thought that it was going to be easy they were mistaken, but it says an awful lot for this Saints side that they were eventually able to overcome an enthusiastic and determined  Wantage side that were in the game right to the end.

UHL Hellenic League Premier Division

Brackley Town Saints (5) Ascot United (1)

Saints: Worby, Middleton. Brock, Godfrey, Goddard, Ward , Ball (G), Watts, Knight, Hammond, Kille

Subs – Bowden, Swann,

Given the dreadful windy conditions this was a very entertaining game in which both teams had their moments but in which Saints were absolutely clinical in front of goal. The first 15 minutes or so were very even as the 2 teams tried to come to terms with the strong and gusting wind which was blowing straight down the pitch. Ascot chose to play with the wind at their backs and found it hard to find their range of pass with many overhit throughout the first 45 minutes.
